The painting from this village differs most from all other lacquer box centres as it resembles Western European painting most, and falls into the realist school. Fedoskino is also the oldest centre of lacquer box production, and if you are a lucky collector, you may find boxes dating from the 18th century. Today's artists create miniature masterpieces which rival the beauty and intricacy of their antique predecessors.
